Release notes for GTDB R06-RS202 Release date: April 27th, 2021 GTDB R06-RS202 contains 45,555 bacterial and 2,339 archaeal species clusters which span 258,406 genomes. GTDB R06-RS202 data files are available at: https://data.ace.uq.edu.au/public/gtdb/data/releases/release202/202.0/ The latest GTDB data files are always available at: https://data.ace.uq.edu.au/public/gtdb/data/releases/latest/ Release statistics are available at: https://gtdb.ecogenomic.org/stats CHANGES from R05-RS95 --------------------- - Latin names proposed in the literature without a proposed type genome will no longer be incorporated into the GTDB. Such taxa will be given a placeholder name until type material is designated. This is in accordance with the Prokaryotic Code and to ensure the long term stability of the GTDB. - New Latin names are no longer proposed by GTDB curators. - Marker genes and corresponding HMMs were updated from the Pfam v27 to Pfam v33.1. - NCBI Pathogen Detection Assembly (surveillance) genomes are not processed for inclusion in the GTDB as these genomes are too numerous and from well described taxa. Searching for such genomes on the GTDB website indicates they are part of this NCBI initiative (e.g. GCA_003592745.1).
